Put Raj on terror list, NRI group tells US Govt

Amarnath Tewary | Patna

A group of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in the United States has requested the US Department of State to put MNS and Raj Thackeray on terror watch list.

This group has written a letter to the US Secretary of State Condolezza Rice in this regard. “We’ve requested the US Government to put Raj Thackeray and his party MNS on the list of terrorist organisations which are out to hurt the humanity,” said Ravi Verma, head of the group.

Verma hails from Katihar in Bihar and is a successful entrepreneur in the US for the last several years. He is the CEO of Telecommand Software and Services and was one of the very few NRIs who had mustered courage to invest in Bihar after the regime changed in the State.

Pained and perturbed over what he called “xenophobia” in Maharashtra by the MNS chief Raj Thackeray recently, he formed a group of NRIs named “Humane Mumbai”.

“We, US residents, are part of a group called Humane Mumbai. We wish to bring to your attention a terrorist organisation called Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or Maharashtra Renaissance Party led by Raj Thackeray. This organisation, under the leadership of Raj Thackeray, is committing large-scale crimes, including killing of people, who Raj Thackeray considers, are not part of his State Maharashtra,” they wrote.

The group has requested to the secretary to put “Raj Thackeray and his group on the list of terrorist organisations which are out to hurt the humanity”.

Ravi Verma said that there was widespread dismay among Indians throughout the world over the persecution of north Indians living or visiting Maharashtra. Even Maharashtrians are embarrassed by his antics.

Verma said that it was non-resident Maharashtrians who first joined his group in large numbers.

Once MNS is on the terror watch list, they will be under surveillance by the US for their activities, he said.

Ravi Verma runs an engineering college in Katihar and exports software products to the US. He actively participated in the Bihar Global meet held at Patna two years ago.

People like Raj Thackeray and parties like MNS should be banned and ostracised by the society at large, said Verma.

Mr Rajesh Sharma gives a brainless comment. In Congress Rule there have been 8000 terrorist related killings only, 2100 Naxalite related killings etc. Whose money is invested in Mumbai? 96.4% money is "outsider".

Bullet You lack vision Mr Katihar.

Mr Verma does not know that when Laloo Prasad Yadav was the CM, there were a total of 1200 murders in BIHAR. WHAT IF THE MAHARASHTRA NRI's PUT A BAN ON ALL PEOPLE OF BIHAR BEING GIVEN USA VISAS? Instead Mr Verma must encourage investements and growth of BIHAR and study the core problem is migration of Biharis from BIHAR to ASSAM, JAMMU, PUBJAB, DELHI, BANGALORE, MUMBAI, HYDRABAD, THE CORE - NO JOBS IN BIHAR
