5 arrested with gold, silver, Rs 36,000

The Nishatpura police has nabbed five miscreants near Dwarka Palace and recovered gold, silver and Rs 36,000 cash from their possession late on Friday. It is pertinent to mention here that miscreants were planning robbery at petrol pump.

Police said that on the receipt of the information of men carrying arms and planning robbery police swung into action and team of Nishatpura police rushed to the spot and nabbed five persons near Dwarka Palace. The miscreants tried to escape the spot but were nabbed by the police.

The five were identified as Ashu alias Javed (24) of Gandhi Nagar and Yunus alias Innu  of Gandhi Nagar, Asif (20), Golu alias Gulab(21) and Amir(21) of Nishatpura.

From their possession police have recovered two country made pistol, 7 live cartridges, one sharp edged weapon, chilli powder and rope.

The police have registered a case under section 399 and 402 of the IPC and section 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

Later in the investigation the nabbed accused revealed that they have committed burglaries in the past.

Police have recovered valuables worth Rs 5 lakh.

Gold jewelry weighing 100 gm and 1.5 kg of silver and Rs 36000. The accused have been booked for burglary, robbery, Arms Act, Excise Act in the Bhopal and Gwalior and were absconding in cases.

Police said that more crimes would be confessed by the accused in the further investigation and more recoveries would be made. Accomplices who have helped in disposing the valuables obtained in crimes would also be investigated.
