The 76th birth anniversary of Sankaracharya Jagdguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswati of Puri Gobardhan mutt was observed here at Patia Sworna Bhawan by Ramrajya Parishad established by Swami Karapatriji, where Parishad coordinator Arjyakumar Jnanendra presided. A yajna was held on the occasion for a long life of the Sankaracharya.
Giving his welcome address, Hindu Rashtra Mahasangha president Dr Badrinath Patnaik said that the Jagadguru is gifted with divine power owing to which he can work for 20 hours a day on his religious and intellectual pursuits. Chief guest Dr Niranjan Brahma said the Guruji has dedicated about 140 invaluable books over his 50 years of Sanyas life and lamented that steps are not taken for the propagation of the books.
Parishad national coordinator Manoj Rath said Swamiji embarks on an all India tour for 250 days every year for the protection of Hindu religion, culture, Sanskrit language and cows.
