Singer Neha Kakkar to perform on Chhath

Popular playback singer Neha Kakkar is all set to make the evening of Chhath on November 2 more colourful for the devotees with her ensemble of religious songs to rev up the Chhat spirit at Agrico Maidan.

Neha Kakkar along with her team members will perform on the occasion. She competed on season 2 of the television reality show Indian Idol in 2006 and was a judge on the tenth and eleventh season of the same show Indian Idol 10 and 11 respectively. She also appeared in Comedy Circus Ke Taansen in 2014 on Sony TV. She had judged a singing reality show on Zee TV named Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs.

Surya Mandir Committee under its patron and Chief Minister Raghubar Das is organising the event.  Officials of the committee informed that during his visit to the city, Das had given instructions to make proper arrangements for the event. Jusco and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee will carry cleanliness of the pond with bleaching powder and chemicals and water. Arrangements for fire extinguishers will be done by temple committee. Over 40 CCTVs and two drones will be deployed by the organising committee for security reasons.

Officials of Surya Mandir committee said that this evening is being organised from several years to mark Chhath celebrations. According to them, the purpose of the programme was to promote peace and harmony. “People of all faiths have been invited for the grand show,” one of them said, adding that preparations are in full swing.  Sadhna Sinha, Devi, Anuradha Pondwal, Malini Awasthi and Tripti Sakya the great artists have performed at art Chhath puja. The officials informed that no charge is taken from visiting devotees by the temple committee for staying at the rooms. Devotees from remote villages can come and stay. In view of rising inflation, he said, Chhath items would be made available by the temple committee for worship at very cheap rates.

According to them almost five thousand devotees will worship the sun god and 20 thousand people will visit the mandir on the occasion. The temple committee will ensure free milk and twigs for the devotees.
