In order to disseminate information regarding election campaigning of the party candidates’ and to coordinate with control rooms set up in all the seven Lok Sabha constituencies, the
Delhi Congress President Shiela Dikshit inaugurated centralised control room on Saturday.
According a senior Congress leader, there are seven separate desks at the centralised Control Room to collate information from all the seven Parliamentary constituencies, including the detailed campaign schedule, meetings and other programmes of each of the Congress candidates.
“This Control Room will use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Shakti App, WhatsApp, SMS and Voice Call for the election campaign,” said the senior party leader adding that a separate Legal Desk is also there at the control room to advise the Congress candidates on the legal matters that may arise during the election campaign.
Former Delhi Minister Dr Narendra Nath said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi has allowed the use of the Shakti App by the Delhi congress control room.
“This room will also provide information regarding UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s road shows,” he said.
The party has not even declared names of its candidates in Delhi.
