Postal employees threaten to launch indefinite strike

All India Postal Employees Union has threatened to launch an indefinite strike nationwide in support of their long-pending demands.

“We have been demanding for years, the postal employees are worst sufferer in the present situation, but nobody is paying any heed to our real demands,” said RN Parashar National General Secretary of the union (Group-C). He was here to attend the state working committee meeting of the union organized at Buddha Vihar at Bokaro Steel City.

Speaking on the occasion Parashar said, our burning issue is the retrenchment of employees, faulty labor laws, the alienated attitude of the government towards the welfare of postal employees, MACP, Cadre restructuring, privatization including others.  “The union had been demanding appointment of staffs, civil servant status to the rural postal staffs, implementation of the proper pension scheme,” he added.

The working committee discussed various aspects of the postal employees. Besides others, Santosh Kumar Singh, Puranjay Kumar, Gulshan Kumar, Neelam Singh, Rita Kumari, Sandeep Kumar expressed their views during the meeting.
