Sikh Industrialists’ delegation calls on Haryana CM

Chandigarh: A delegation of Sikh industrialists called on Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, where detailed discussions on various important topics, including industrial development, investment opportunities and social collaboration in the state were held. The delegation comprised prominent Sikh industrialists from diverse sectors such as automobiles, textiles, agriculture, IT, and food processing. On the occasion, Saini informed about the state government’s policies and initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and creating new employment opportunities. The Sikh industrialists commended the government’s efforts in supporting the business community and fostering a positive environment for entrepreneurship.
 
Himachal fruit growers demand ban on apple imports from Turkiye

Shimla: A fruit growers' body on Tuesday demanded a complete ban on the import of apples from Turkiye against the backdrop of Ankara backing Pakistan and its condemnation of India's strikes on terror camps in the neighbouring country. In identical memoranda sent to the President and the Prime minister through Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Himachal Fruit Growers Samyukt Manch said that Turkiye, which is the largest exporter of apple to India with average imports of Rs 800-1,000 crore, sided with Pakistan and the quote "friend of enemy is also enemy" must apply to Turkiye and all imports from that country be banned immediately. Talking to reporters here, the Manch's President Harish Chauhan said that Turkiye supplied drones to Pakistan, which were used against India and all imports and exports from Turkiye be banned, which would also benefit apple growers in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and other states.  He also urged the people not to consume the apple imported from Turkiye and added that marble traders in Rajasthan have also decided not to import marble from Turkey and tourists have also cancelled bookings to Turkiye.

CM Saini to inaugurate Haryana’s first modern jail training academy today

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will inaugurate state’s first state-of-the-art Modern Jail Training Academy in Karnal on Wednesday. State Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Sumita Misra said that this Modern Jail Training Academy, is constructed on 6.54 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 30.29 crore. It stands as North India’s first-of-its-kind modern training centre, capable of training over 250 trainees simultaneously, she added. She informed that the modern jail training centre premises is equipped with a wide range of modern infrastructure which includes an administrative block, hostels for trainees, a state-of-the-art auditorium, conference hall, armory, and a parade ground. For residential convenience, the campus includes a Principal’s residence, 8 Type-II and 12 Type-III staff quarters, enabling seamless living and training conditions.

UT Administrator interacts with IAS probationers


CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, on Tuesday interacted with a group of IAS probationers who visited Punjab Raj Bhavan. During the interaction, Kataria congratulated the officers on their success in the All India Services Examination and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication. He emphasized the importance of good governance, efficient public service delivery, and timely execution of welfare and development schemes.
