Celebrations galore on Ambedkar Jayanti in Palamu

It was a day of celebrations on Ambedkar Jayanti in Palamu. Men, women and children paraded in joy remembering the father of the constitution Dr B R Ambedkar.

Shobha Yatras were taken out in full gaiety. The mood was upbeat. The followers knew their Baba Saheb gave them face and voice both. District president of RJD Dhananjay Paswan steerer the show.

Spokesperson for the RJD Sanjay Ranjan Singh, former IPS officer, has urged the youths of the marginalized communities to take to 'pen'.

"It's time to take to Kalam (pen). India has seen enough of smoke and smell. There has been a reckless use of the fire arms. But now take pen. It will usher in a change" said the RJD spokesperson.

He said "Marginalised communities are still out of the mainstay of the country. Did you find any gazetted officer in the community of the Mushars?"

"Independence Day, Republic Day and so many other important Days just mean a douna (leaf plate) of bundya (sweets) that the marginalized communities have seen or found. Their say is either cut or sunk." opined Sanjay Ranjan Singh.

"A Dalit mason or labourer is appreciated so long he lays the brick, casts the roof, builds a luxury place of worship but once the place of worship is ready and Pran Pratishtha done, the entry of the same Dalit mason or labourer is prohibited in the place of worship," said the RJD spokesperson.

Sanjay Ranjan Singh is credited for installing the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar for the first time at village Dumri his native village in Palamu district.

"The bust size statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar is just not a piece of stone. It is a symbol of equality. It gives a messages of all inclusive society," the RJD spokesperson reminded.

Naudeeha Bazar police station limits has a fleet of statues of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. It has helped create an atmosphere of right to equality among the various communities.

On being asked if the Dalits have faced resistance or challenges while installing the statues of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, to which this well meaning RJD spokesperson said "Now, it's not so. A new wind of positivity blows. There were definitely such times most in conducive to install the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar."

Again asked how a statue serves the design or dimension of the communities to which Sanjay Ranjan Singh said"A statue is itself a storehouse of ideologies. See the statue of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam . It immediately inspires you to do good to the nation."

"I had my stint in the police academy here in Jharkhand. The walls of the academy are adorned with the photos of the personalities across the faith who when your eyes fall on them, will send you a rare feeling of equality and justice" reiterated the RJD fellow.
