Ujjain distt tops State in School Enrollment Drive

Monday, 09 June 2025 | PNS | Ujjain

Under the directive of the Government of Madhya Pradesh to provide quality education to every child, a special enrollment campaign named “Mission One” has been launched across the state, focusing on increasing school enrollments, particularly in Classes 1 and 6. The initiative, which started on April 1st, has achieved remarkable success, with Ujjain district securing the top spot in the state for student enrollment.

District Project Coordinator, Mr. Ashok Tripathi, explained that the primary aim of the campaign was to connect more children to the education system, reduce dropout rates, and implement the Right to Education more effectively. Special efforts were concentrated on boosting enrollments in Classes 1 and 6, ensuring that more children receive the education they are entitled to.

This significant achievement is credited to the leadership of District Collector Mr. Roshan Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat Mrs. Jayati Singh, and the tireless efforts of Mr. Tripathi. Both government and private schools in the district collaborated closely to maximize enrollments, with a particular emphasis on bringing back students who had dropped out.

To ensure success, the district leveraged data from Anganwadi centers, the Women and Child Development Department, and the Samagra Portal for Class 1 enrollments. These efforts aimed to leave no child behind and ensure every eligible student was enrolled. The district's comprehensive approach included door-to-door visits by teachers, direct engagement with parents, and increased awareness through children’s assemblies, rallies, street plays, and posters in villages.

The District Project Coordinator took a hands-on approach by personally visiting each block, organizing meetings, and motivating teams at the block level. Daily progress was tracked through video conferences with key personnel, including APCs, BRCs, BACs, and CACs. Parent-teacher meetings played a vital role in keeping families involved and informed throughout the process.

Special attention was given to enrolling girls, children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and those who had never attended school. As a result of these targeted efforts, all blocks in Ujjain district showed active participation, contributing to significant progress in student enrollment from Classes 1 to 8.

In the end, Ujjain district's collective and strategic approach to the "Mission One" campaign has paid off, securing its position as the top-performing district in the state. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of community involvement, strategic planning, and leadership in achieving educational goals.
