3 killed, 3 kidnapped in W Midnapore, Bankura

Two CPI(M) supporters were hacked to death and three others abducted by Maoist-backed tribals in restive West Midnapore district while a Trinmool Congress supporter was killed in neighbouring Bankura district.
CPI-M local leaders Tapan Mody and Dilip Mahato were taken away by Maoist-backed People's Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA) supporters from Raghunathpur and Goaltore areas last night and their mutilated bodies found today, police said.
Three other CPI-M local committee members, Ratan Patra, Gadadhar Patra and Kartik Dey, were abducted from Goaltore today in retaliation for the kidnap of a PCPA supporter from Hatipota village yesterday allegedly by Marxists, they said.
In neighbouring Bankura, Trinamool supporter Ajit Das had his throat slit and body thrown into a pond at Sangroghat under Ingas police station, SP Vishal Garg said.
The killers could belong to the CPI-M since the two parties were involved in area domination there, he said.
