PNS | Bhubaneswar
In order to provide a platform to artists and enable them to reach out to te masses, Tata Steel has organised ‘Art in Industry’, a camp-cum-exhibition at Jayadev Bhavan here from November 1 to 4. It was inaugurated on Sunday by vice-president, Orissa Project, Tata Steel Ltd BK Singh.

Our aim is not only to create a market for the creations of the participants but to also provide an opportunity to the lesser-known talents and take their creations to the people and appreciate art."
Twenty-four eminent artists are participating in the event, and out of them, six are from Bhopal, New Delhi, Patna and Benaras and 18 from Odisha. The exhibition is open for visitors from 10 am to 5 pm. Well-known artists taking part in the event include, Dr Dinanath Pathy, DN Rao, Shiva Panigrahi, Byomekesh Mohanty, Baldev Prasad Maharath, Yusuf, Pranam Singh and Milan Das.
The concept of the "Art in Industry" camp dates back to 1943 when Tata Steel was one of the prize-donors at an exhibition and sale held at the JJ School of Art, Mumbai, wherein artists were invited to compete for prizes and scholarships.
