Releases documents to prove allegations against Raja
AIADMK chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Saturday evening released seven documents to prove that Union IT and Telecommunication Minister A Raja had “acted in a dubious manner” in the allocation of 2-G spectrum.
Jayalalithaa said that she had cited many documents in the Open Letter to the Prime Minister on the alleged Rs 1 lakh-crore spectrum scam. “These and much more have been seized by the CBI during its raids. No one has refuted any of these facts. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, for reasons best known to him, is maintaining a monumental silence. Karunanidhi, who does not have any explanation to give, has instead taken the cheap route of making derogatory personal insinuations against me using the anonymity of various pen-names. But the fact remains that the nation has been cheated of Rs 1 lakh-crore. A scam that is more than 1,000 times bigger than the infamous Bofors scam has taken place. The question is: How long is everyone going to pretend that it has not taken place?” she asked in a statement here.
The ADMK chief said that she was releasing the documents as “many friends from the media called up to find out whether these documents were really available with me. I am therefore releasing to the media”.
