Bullet Another farmer commits suicide
Yet another farmer reportedly committed suicide over crop failure in Subarnapur district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Kartik Mahakur. With this the number of farmers who committed suicide has gone up to eight.
Bullet Naveen leaves for Delhi
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday left for New Delhi. He will meet the Chairman of the 13th Finance Commission Dr Bijay Kalkar and Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy. During the meeting with the Finance Commission, he would demand more funds for the State, particularly for the KBK funds.
Bullet 2 tribal students, doctor test H1N1 positive
Two minor tribal girls have been tested positive for swine flu in Sundargarh district. Swab samples of these girls aged 13 and 7 years, which had been sent to the Regional Medical Research Centre here, were tested positive to H1N1 virus, Health Department official said.

Bullet Preparations on for foundation stone of Posco steel project
All preparations are going on a full swing to lay the foundation stone for the Posco’s 12 million tonne steel plant in January, 2010. Bullet 2 more bodies recovered from Puri beach
A day after two engineering students drowned while taking bath in the sea at the holy town, two more bodies were recovered, taking the toll to four on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as a local tourist Binod Sahu of Badamba Narsinghpur while another is said to be the student from Kalyani Government Engineering College in West Bengal.

Veteran scribe Gopal Mishra (76) passed away on Sunday at 8.30 pm in the city based Kalinga Hospital. Suffering from acute asthma, he was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He is survived by four sons and one daughter.
