Ryan welcomes NASA designer

The Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj played host to Heather Paul, NASA Space suit designer. The guest was accorded a formal welcome on arrival by the NCC cadets and school band.

The students took the guest around various eco projects that had been taken up by the school.

Admission Alert

The Rachnoutsav Events Academy, Hyderabad announced the admission notification to its programmes for the academic year 2012-13.

The institute invites applications for their one-year full-time course in professional foundation course in event management, advanced masters course in event management and advanced masters course in wedding planning.

Those students who are interested in applying for these courses should have successfully completed their Class XII exam and scored a minimum 60 per cent in English as subject or a score of 6.0 in IELTS.

AIM INVITES applications

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Management (AIM), New Delhi,  invites applications for its 2012-2014 batch, for PGDM (General), PGDM (Marketing), PGDM (Banking & Finance), and PGDM (International Business) programmes.

The Institute is also offering Shri Bipin Bihari Verma Memorial Scholarships (SBBVMS) to 70 meritorious students in need of financial-aid amounting to 71.25lakhs, based on their CAT/MAT/XAT scores and previous academic record.

Interested students have to mention in their application form if they wish to apply for this Scholarship.

Scholar badge ceremony

The Delhi Public School Indirapuram held its scholar badge ceremony for the students of Class VI. The chief guest for the occasion was Prof BP Khandelwal, member DPS Society.

The occasion was also graced by Santosh Bansal, ex-vice chairperson, DPS Indirapuram and Amitabh Srivastava, PTA member, DPS Indirapuram.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamp.

Meeta Rai, the principal, congratulated the students and motivated them to aspire for the scholar blazer and the gold medal.

AIMA will conduct MAT

The All India Management Association (AIMA) will continue to organise Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for MBA aspirants. And the next test is scheduled in May 6, 2012. The association has no plans to discontinue the exam as has been published in various newspaper reports. The AIMA has been successfully administering MAT for over 20 years now in both the online and written format.

BBS signs mou

The AICAR Business School signed an MOU with the Brunel Business School (BBS), UK.

A group comprising seven students from BBS accompanied by two senior faculty members, arrived in Mumbai on a study tour.

During their stay at the AICAR Campus, several interactive programmes had been organised between the AICAR, the BBS students and the faculty.

In addition, Brunel students will also visited top multi-national companies, to develop an understanding of India’s economy and the projections for the future. The The team also visited many non-profit organisations during their stay in Mumbai.

Their programme also included a visit to some of the villages around our campus at Neral (Karjat) to give them an idea of the lifestyle of the villagers and their aspirations for the future. AICAR is at present conducting studies for one of India’s corporates to assess the future demands of India’s villagers.

The BBS team took back with them a presentation by that was made by AICAR faculty on the opportunities that the country has to offer in the field of education.

Scholarships Announced

The Max New York Life Insurance, announced their third-igenius scholarships 2012. The programme will  provide 2,000 child well-being sponsorships to socially and economically disadvantaged children.

Speaking at the event Anisha Motwani, director and chief marketing officer, Max New York Life Insurance said: “Igenius is an innovative engagement programme to understand and support the needs of young Indians. About 14 lakh children from more than 1,000 cities enrolled for the scholarships in 2010 and 2011.”

The scholarship programme offers 1,100 scholarships. This year a primary category has been added to enable children from nursery to Class II to participate in the programme. With this addition, around 70 lakh more children will now have an opportunity to participate in this unique programme.

Students wanting to avail this scholarship was the year 2012 can register online, at www.igenius.org, or or through the company’s branch offices and other networks. The company will also run a school programme for junior category.

JRE offers management scholarships

The JRE School of Management is offering scholarships for MBA aspirants for the PGDM course. The scholarship will be based on the student’s performance in recently held CAT and MAT exam.

The scholarship will be active throughout the two-year PDGM programme. The aim of this scholarship programme is to encourage brilliant minds to achieve new heights and come up ahead as thoughtful leaders and industry movers.

Applications Invited by Northampton

The University of Northampton (UK) is invites applications for its MPhil and PhD in Leather Technology.

The university is also offering a number of one year Leather Technology programmes: Certificate in Leather Technology, BSc (Hons.) Leather Technology  and MSc  Leather Technology.

Interested candidates can apply for MPhil and PhD courses should have a recognised postgraduate degree in any discipline.

Those applying for Bsc and certificate courses should have passed their Class XII exam. Students with lower level qualifications but relevant experience in the leather industry will also be considered on an individual basis.

The fee structure for the BSc (Hons) is £9,100 and for MSc, Mphil and PhD course is £9,500.

The university is also offering 25 per cent merit scholarship for international students applying for both undergraduate and master’s courses. For details contact: international@northampton.ac.uk

Conference at JIMS

The Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), organised an international conference on Service Led Inclusive Growth.

The event was graced by Ajay Chagti, additional secretary (Home), VKS Chauhan, additional secretary (Vigilance), Delhi Government and Dr JK Goyal, Director, JIMS.

The morning session started with a panel discussion on service led inclusive growth, a maze with devious routes and uncertain end or a path that will yield the promise of overall development.

Prof OP Chopra, ex-Dean, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) was the moderator for the panel discussion. Some of the eminent speakers at the event included Ajay Sahai, director general & CEO, Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO),  Rajeev Gupta, council member, managing director, Resource Development International (I) (P) Ltd, Rajesh Bansal, ADG, Unique Identification Authority of India and Sruti Shankar, AGM, Reserve Bank of India who actively participated in the discussion and shared their invaluable thoughts on the topic.
