ICSI’s Mega placement drive

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a premier professional body set up under Company Secretaries Act, 1980, for the regulation and development Company Secretaries professionals in India, has organised Mega Placement Drive-2018 across all four regions of ICSI — Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai  on June 11, 12, 19, and 23, 2018, respectively for recruitment of Company Secretaries at a large scale.

The institute has over 53,000 members and about three lakh students on its roll. The institute, which functions under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, focuses on best and top-quality education to students of Company Secretaries course and best quality set standards for CS members.

As per Section 203 of Companies Act 2013 and Rule 8 & 8A of the Companies Appointment and Remuneration of Managerial Personnel Rules 2014; the company having paid up capital of more than Rs 5 crore are required to appoint a Company Secretary on regular basis. Apart from the core CS profile, the Banks and Financial Institutions like NBFC are appointing CS for scrutinising the eligibility for loan applications and even as credit analysts.
