IGNCA Kala Nidhi Division

IGNCA Kala Nidhi Division hosted PR Mukund of Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York on June 11, 2018. Mukund gave a talk on Waferfiche TM Technology, which is a ground breaking archival technology for long term preservation of manuscripts. Mukund highlighted both the technological aspects as well as the advantages of the new technology over existing archival technologies. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA chaired the session and stressed the importance of adopting new technologies. Ramesh C Gaur, Head of Kala Nidhi Division at IGNCA welcomed the gathering and explained the relevance of the new technology in the context of existing archival technologies.

CMD, NBCC ON SIGNIFICANCE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC and Chairman of BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry delivered the welcome address at ‘International Congress on Electric Vehicle Market, 2018’, at India International Center, New Delhi on May 25. Among those present at the event were Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and delegates from BRICS nations. Mittal also interacted with media post the event where he spoke at length on importance of electric vehicles. The event was organised by BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In the recent past, a 22 KW AC electric vehicle charging station has been installed in New Moti Bagh GPRA Colony which has been developed by NBCC.

SK Acharya inaugurates Specialized RO plant

NLC India Limted under its CSR endeavors provided customised RO Plant of 2000 Liter. Per Hour (LPH) Capacity to Isha Foundation at Coimbatore on Tuesday. NLCIL undertakes CSR in the fields of environment, health, education and skill Development etc.., working extensively with local communities towards welfare of neighboring villages and schools under CSR. The New R.O plant was inaugurated by S.K Acharya, CMD, NLCIL besides Samundi Building at Isha Foundation in the presence of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Founder Isha Foundation and R Vikraman , Director (HR),NLCIL.

N RlY TO LEVERAGE WHATSAPP for CLEANLINESS

One of the busiest Railway Zone in India, Northern Railway has taken the lead and will monitor the cleanliness on its trains using Whatsapp groups administered by senior railway officials. This is the second such service of Whatsapp being used by Railways. Earlier it had deployed the free interface to provide live update of all trains through Whatsapp number - 7349389104 With the help of technology, Northern Railway is all set to use WhatsApp for monitoring cleanliness in trains. It will also help Northern Railways aims to bring about greater transparency and accountability in its functioning.

Union Minister of Steel visits Kalinganagar

Union Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh visited Kalinganagar on June 12, 2018 and interacted with MDs/CEOs of major steel producing units located in the State of Odisha.  Officers from the Central Government and the State Government were also present in the meeting.  In his remarks, Union Steel Minister has stated that India has become the second largest producing nation in 2018. In the financial year 2017-18, India has produced more than 100 million tonnes of steel.  Indian Steel Industry has come out of the difficulties faced during 2014-15 and 2015-16 due to various policy interventions by the Government of India.  National Steel Policy and DMI&SP Policy were notified during 2017 giving direction and fillip to the domestic industry.
