DIMTS launches Android app

Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transport System (DIMTS) has come up with a web and Android mobile application that helps in planning a journey on a cluster bus in a more effective way. The application helps in finding out the total estimated travel time in a bus or finding out the estimated time of arrival, trip planner, tracking on orange coloured Delhi Transit buses. It would also give the real time information of orange colour buses, run under cluster scheme by DIMTS, running on the road and their estimated time of arrival at a bus stop. A user has to key in the route number of the bus that one intends to take. This will give the passenger the list of bus stops along with the estimated time of arrival. For this, an Android mobile user can download Delhi Transit Bus Info application from Google Play Store and go to the estimated time arrival option and select “By Route”.

 

Delhi ‘greenest’ capital city: sheila Dikshit

Citing rise in green cover, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said Delhi has become the “greenest” Capital in the world. “Delhi is the greenest capital in the world today as its green cover has gone up to 22 per cent,” she said after participating in a plantation drive at Kondli area of the city. The Government had launched a plantation drive in June aiming to plant 15 lakh saplings during the monsoon season with an aim to further increase the green cover of Delhi. Dikshit exhorted citizens to plant saplings in the city during the monsoon and tend them delicately to ensure their survival. She pointed out that children had contributed substantially in expanding the Capital's green cover. Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly Amrish Gautam, Environment Secretary Sanjiv Kumar, Delhi Jal Board CEO Debashree Mukherjee were among others present on the occasion.

 

Devotees congregate in Kirpal Bagh

Thousands of devotees congregated in Kirpal Bagh on the occasion of Param Sant Kirpal Singh's 39th Barsi Bhandara and paid rich homage to him. Devotees spoke about his tireless efforts towards human unity. Sant Rajinder Singh in his message from Chicago said, “Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj was the guiding light to the path of God. He lit the spark of the Divine in millions of hearts and linked them to the inner Light and Sound of God.” On this occasion, stalls were set up and food was served to innumerable people at 70 locations all over Delhi and at numerous places all over India. Free literature of the Mission was also distributed and videos were shown about the life and teachings of the masters. Medicines, fruits were also distributed to cancer patients at the Shanti Avedana Sadan, Raj Nagar, New Delhi.

 

Sanjay Kumar's tome on electoral politics unveiled

A book titled Changing Electoral Politics in Delhi written by Sanjay Kumar was launched on Wednesday in the Capital. The book, based on the results of last four assembly elections held in Delhi and survey data on opinion and attitude of Delhi voters, was launched by Ravish Kumar, a well-known TV anchor and journalist, professor Rajesh Bhargav and others. According to the author, the book analyses the changing pattern of electoral politics in Delhi, using last four assembly polls held in Delhi after it became a State in year 1993. The book has covered the voting pattern of Delhi voters such as caste, community, economics, social, religious, urban etc.
