Arvinder Singh, the man who had slapped Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, was granted bail by a sessions court on Monday, but warned him of not indulging in any violent activity in the future. District Judge HS Sharma while granting bail to Singh observed, “The applicant is in custody since November 11, 2011. No usual purpose will be served by keeping him in jail.” The court, however, firmly disapproved of his violent ways of protest in the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Gautam Buddha.
DJ Sharma said, “Violence in any form at any place irrespective of the grievance of an individual, is to be neither preached nor approved. The applicant (Singh) may have his own ways to express his anger. However, at the same time, he is to shun violence. Ours is a land of Gautam Buddha and Gandhi where non-violence has always been preached.”
