Living in the great United States of Absurdity I am appalled at, not only the excessive celebrity focus in the media but, the excessive emphasis on "the fall of celebrities" without any focus on their talent, contributions and their complex lives. Hidden in this kind of attention on FOX, CNN and/or some parts of MSNBC is an obvious and a subtle racism. White trash artists or drug addicts are never given this much attention and analysis on their personal lives and problems...but Black artists are. They latter struggle more, give more, suffer more and are exploited more. They are treated like an exploitable or an expendable commodity...and above all they are also blamed for being different (like Michale Jackson) or for being successful (due to jealousy, envy or black power). I am not black, but I saw this up close with brown and black people who were constantly overqualifed, overworked, over-lied-to, over-stressed and exploited constantly.
