Mosquito nets to be distributed in MP
Bhopal: Mosquito-nets will be distributed in highly malaria-prone districts of Madhya Pradesh under Carrier Diseases Control Programme. As many as 7.07 lakh mosquito-nets will be distributed in eight districts of the State.
The work of distributing long-lasting impregnated nets in tribal-dominated areas has been started by the Health Department from Nalchha village in Dhar district. The distribution of mosquito-nets at Nalchha was launched by Minister of State for Health Mahendra Hardia and Minister of State for Panchayats and Rural Development Dev Singh Sayyam at village Padariya in Dindori district. Mosquito-nets will be distributed to all the beneficiaries in rest of the highly malaria-prone areas of the district by District Health Committee. For this purpose, work is being undertaken by the District Health Committee by chalking out a village-wise action plan. The number of mosquito-nets allotted to various districts is; 1.25 lakh each to Dhar and Alirajpur, one lakh each to Mandla and Dindori, 54,000 to Betul, 50,000 to Shahdol, 1.20 lakh to Chhindwara and 3.25 lakh to Sidhi district.
Govt terminates public prosecution officer
Bhopal: The State Government has terminated Assistant Public Prosecution Officer Sheela Kaithoria on being found guilty of dereliction of duty. During her posting in Raisen district, Kaithoria had remained absent for one month since the prescribed date for pleading on behalf of the Government. The action has been taken after her reply to the show-cause notice was found dissatisfactory and the inquiry found her guilty of dereliction of duty. As a result, she has been removed from service.
CM slams Centre for setting up NCTC
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has termed the Centre's initiative of setting up National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) as a severe blow to India's federal structure saying that this step of Centre is an undue interference in State's jurisdiction. The law and order related subjects are in the purview of the State. He said that a letter would be sent to the Prime Minister protesting against the move. The Prime Minister would be requested to re-consider the setting up of the NCTC and withdraw it, he added. Reacting to Centre's move, Chouhan said that the Centre is gradually increasing its interference in the affairs of States. He said that Madhya Pradesh Assembly unanimously passed Terrorism and Organised Crime Control Bill in 2007 for effective control of terrorism. The Centre has kept it pending for long, which is objectionable, he added. The Chief Minister said that this step of the Centre is against the spirit of federal system. So far as combating terrorism is concerned, the Centre and the State together can fight it out.
Indian Navy observes 2012 as Ex- navigators year
Bhopal: The Indian Navy is observing year 2012 as the Year of Ex-Navigators. In this context, a programme is being held on February 28, 2012 from 11.30 am at Ex-servicemen’s Rest House, Banganga, Bhopal. At the programme, senior Naval officers will interact with Naval ex-servicemen and apprise them of welfare schemes meant for them. Director, Ex-servicemen’s Welfare, Bhopal has urged Naval ex-servicemen to make available their full address and phone number to the office of the District Ex-servicemen Welfare at the earliest. He has appealed to Naval ex-servicemen interest to take part in the programme to give intimation on phone number 0755-2556198 of the office of District Ex-servicemen Welfare, Bhopal.
Pilot projeCt to be launched
Bhopal: The Panchayats and Rural Development Department will launch a pilot project for constructing the buildings of 55 Gram Panchayats in Berasia development block of Bhopal district with the help of pre-cast/pre-fab-structure technique. Sanction of `1.80 crore has been granted for this purpose. First installment of about Rs 1.50 crore has already been made available. Work of fabricating buildings of 12 village Panchayats is being started soon in the first phase. The village Panchayats whose buildings are being constructed through pre-cast/pre-fab-structure technique include Tarawali Khurd, Badrua, Gujartodi, Kadhaiyakota, Gadhakuhurd, Khajuria Ramdas, Devalkhera, Habibganj, Nidanpura, Daulatpura and Chandasaloi.
603 Anganwadi workers to be trained
Bhopal: Training will be imparted to 603 Anganwadi workers selected from districts for successful implementation of Atal Behari Vajpayee Child Health and Nutrition Mission in the State. They will be imparted training by master trainers at the State-level. A training module has been prepared with the cooperation of UNICEF by the Mission for imparting training to Anganwadi workers. Before imparting training to participants at the division-level, training will be imparted to master trainers. The State-level training programme for the master trainers will be organised from February 21 to 25. These master trainers will in turn train selected participants at the division level. The division-level training programme will be held from February 28 to March 3. One participant from each of 453 projects will be imparted training.
