A Management Development Programme (MDP) — ‘A to Z of stress management’ was held  at India habitat Centre recently.

The one day programme was organised by Jagan Institute of Management Studies in association with Delhi Management Association.

Raj Gupta, Director HR, Air Liquide E&C, Delhi; and Lada Negodina, Fitness Trainer and Grooming Expert were the facilitators of the MDP. The programme emphasised on the proactive approach to stress management. Business managers, entrepreneurs, management professionals from various organisation and students of JIMS attended the MDP. The programme proceeded in a interactive environment.

SSD invites applications

The Sushant School of Design (SSD), Gurgaon invites applications for the Foundation in Art and Design course. It is a one-year certificate course.

Applications are also invited for a three-year diploma course in interior design. The diploma gives students a focused start to their creative design careers by developing process, analytical, technical and communication skills.

Applications are also invited for Fashion and Textiles. It is a three-year diploma course. It aims to create skilled graduates. The course focusses on developing design skills evolving from cultural connotations and new practices.

Scholarships announced

The Accurate Institute of Management & Technology, Greater Noida has announced merit scholarships with a total amount Rs one crore.

Students who scored 60 percentile in CAT are eligible for a scholarship of Rs 20,000, Ones with 70 percentile will get Rs 30,000.

Students who did not appear for CAT can also apply for scholarship. The students should have achieved above 60 per cent marks in X, XII or graduation can apply for scholarship worth Rs 20,000.

Amrita Varsity signs MoU

The Coimbatore-based Amrita University and the Victoria-based Deakin University of Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to pursue joint research programmes in engineering and life and environmental sciences.

The MoU was signed between Dr Jane den Hollander, VC, Deakin University and Dr VS Somanath, Dean, Amrita School of Business and Dr Bipin Nair, Dean, Amrita School of Biotechnology.

PG programme in Management

The Sunstone Business School, invites applications for its class of 2012 — Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM).

The  post graduate programme geared for professionals within the technology sector focuses on delivering Management know how and skills vital to the current industry scenario.

Gmat reaches new heights

The number of GMAT exams taken around the world in 2011 reached 258,192, the third-highest level on record, and included a 67 per cent increase in tests taken by Asians compared with 2007, as announced by the Graduate Management Admission Council.

The test is increasingly being used as a parameter for admissions to a growing number of specialised master’s programmes in areas such as finance, accounting and management.

“As the economy continues to emerge from the depths, many undergraduates who can’t find jobs are landing in one-year master’s programmes.

These programmes don’t require work experience but provide specialised skills that companies are seeking, such as finance, accounting and marketing,” said Dave Wilson, president of the Graduate Management Admission Council.

The World Geographic Trend Report for GMAT examinees shows that in the 2011-12 testing year, 55 per cent of exams were taken by Indians.

Certificate course in Publishing

The Seagull School of Publishing, Kolkata invites applications for Certificate Programme in Publishing: Editing and Design and Production.

Admission to the programme requires a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

ASRF launches NEW R&D Centre

The Apeejay Stya Research Foundation (ASRF) established their Research & Development Centre in Delhi.

The underlying purpose behind establishing the R&D centre is to develop new and cost effective processes for the existing range of products which are either in great demand or too expensive.

The centre will help students of Apeejay Stya University to conduct their rural health development programme.

The centre is headed by Dr MP Mahajan (former ISRO scientist).

The centre is well-equipped with state of art modern sophisticated equipments and highly competent trained scientific manpower.

The aim of establishing the centre is to provide an effective interface between the academia and industry as envisioned by the country’s higher education drivers as well as accrediting agencies like NAAC.

The research centre will also provide logistic support to the researchers of the Apeejay Stya University (ASU) for enabling them to undertake the research projects relevant to the societal needs.
