A Hindi networking site ‘Mooshak’ was re-launched here on Wednesday. It was first launched in 2015 ahead of the Hindi Conference that was held in the city.

Targeting Hindi language buffs, Mooshak is an attempt to make Hindi and Devnagari relevant and accessible for the NextGen. While talking to the media persons at the re-launch event, founder of Mooshak Anurag Gaur said, “Technology is changing the face of Hindi and especially the way it is written on the internet. Moreover, for few people it is sheer laziness to write Hindi in Devnagari and Mooshak is an humble attempt to show how easy it really is to stay connected using the language.”

Elaborating further, Gaur informed that due to heavy internet traffic the developers were unable to provide facilities and good services to the customers. Hence, after doing few technical changes in the social networking site, it was re-launched.

Gaur further informed, “Mooshak lets you type upto 500 characters, while Twitter allows a maximum of 140.” Further, Mooshak can be accessed on smartphones by downloading it from Google Play Store or visiting its website of the same name, he said.

“We have re-launched the site with adding few new features in it. “The user can write his or her name in any language. Moreover, a user can create a doodle, one cannot create a fake id on mooshak.”

Adding more about it, he informed that Mooshak has Auto transliteration. If one cannot type in Hindi, the user can type in Roman and Mooshak shall convert that to Hindi. It has a global board so that user can look around and see what’s happening around with people that users are now following.

“Mooshak shall continually improve that is our promise,” said Gaur.
