Noida-based man held for atm fraud

Cyber cell has nabbed a Noida based accused involved in duping victims to the tune of Rs 3 lakh by using ATM cards details.

One Indore based victim was duped in the name of facilitating TDS return and based on his complaint accused was nabbed. According to the police, the accused was identified as Deepak Kumar of Noida.

After he was nabbed, his involment was found in the fraud of Rs 19,000 from the account of the victim Basant Singh Rathore. During the investigation when the accused was quizzed he confessed that he used to work with a call center in Noida in the year 2013 where he came into contact with Deepak of Uttarakhand and Rahul Singh of Bihar. Later in the year 2015 they left the job and started to dupe people by obtaining their ATM card details fraudulently.

A complaint was lodged by Basant Singh Rathore that he received a call from the accused posing an employee of TDS department Delhi and who offered to help in TDS return of Rs 4,042 but it would require victim’s ATM card number. After some time the victim received message that Rs 19,942 have been deducted from his bank account.

The victim approached cybercrime cell and lodged a complaint. During the investigation police found that the fraud was done from Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The accused was nabbed and confessed his crime.

The accused along with his two accomplices took a shop on rent at BDA market in Noida and used to operate the racket from the shop.Two members of the nexus are still large and search for the accused has been started.
