Two women booked for duping 13 of Rs 24 lakh

Awadhpuri police have booked two women for duping 13 people to the tune of Rs 24 lakh in the name of providing houses under PM Awas Yojana; a complaint was registered on Friday against accused woman.

Police said that the accused Kavita Naagle and Sangeeta Parihar had duped victims by assuring them of facilitating houses under PM Awas Yojana.

A complaint was lodged by one of the victims Rakesh Barwe of Khajuri Kalan stating that the two accused women Kavita Naagle and Sangeeta Parihar assured that they would facilitate houses under PM Awas Yojana in the year 2013 and also provided card regarding the scheme but even after four years they never received any information regarding the houses and when they got their cards checked they were found fake.

The victims continue to demand details of houses but the accused used to escape with excuses and finally after they failed to get houses they lodged a complaint and after the investigation a complaint was lodged by Awadhpuri police.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police registered a case under section 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC and have started investigation.

The accused had taken money from victims in parts in the year 2013 and different amount of money was taken from the victims. Police said that the accused have not been nabbed. The investigation has been started and details of the accused would be searched and investigated.

Police suspect that the accused have duped other victims also and after the issue would surface more victims might lodge complaint.
