Youngsters display acting talent at Shaheed Bhavan

The aspiring youngsters showcased their acting skills before the faculty members of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) in an audition held here on Monday at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium.

Notably, an audition is being organised for the aspiring students who want to enter the theatre industry and brush up their acting skills. The Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) is conducting the auditions for the new batch of 2017-18. Aspirants from across the country have participated in the auditions.

The students gave the best of their performance. The selection committee watched their performance with rapt attention and marked them accordingly.

The committee included actor and playwright Govind Namdev, Raghuveer Yadav, experts like Piyush Mishra, Seema Vishwas, Vaman Kendre, Mohan Mahrishi, Uttara Bavkar, Alok Chatterjee and director of MPSD Sanjay Upadhyay.

Director of MPSD Sanjay Upadhaya informed that the students are being selected by the special committee of MPSD. They will be marked on their performances that they have given on first and second day of the auditions.

He further informed that during the workshop the students will be taught how to use the props and properties, speech therapy, improvisation of stories, body movements, facial expression with dialogue, and footwork on music along with other experimental exercises and also the voice modulation and the usage of voice in different manner.

He informed that this year huge participation is seen from the youngsters. Even they have presented the quality of acting, he added.

As many as 145 students gave their performance out which only 25 students will be selected for the session.  Notably, all kind of genres like tragedy, comedy, drama and horror would be taught in this workshop

During the selection of the appropriate candidates will be done and selected candidates will be a part of the new session that will begin from July 15.
