Bhajan Lal grandson forays into politics

After grandsons — Digvijay and Dushyant — of former deputy Prime Minister and eminent farmer leader Chaudhary Devi Lal, third generation of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal has also stepped into politics with the workers’ meeting cum seminar on ‘Nation and Youth power’ held here on Thursday.
The seminar organised by student wing of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) was addressed by Bhavya Bishoni, grandson of Bhajan Lal and son of Member of Parliament (MP) Kuldeep Bishnoi.
This was the first political programme of 20-year-old Bhavya who raised the issues pertaining to students in an effective manner during his speech. He also announced restoration of student union elections in colleges and universities in Haryana if the HJC comes to power in next assembly polls.
Bhavya Bishnoi is pursuing his bachelor degree in ‘Economics and Government’ from London School of Economics (United Kingdom) on the basis of Khemka Group Scholarship.
Addressing the gathering, Bhavya said a change in prevailing education system of the State was required to strengthen the social setup. Since youth were the future of any nation hence they would have to play a crucial role in this change, he added.
Appealing the youths for toiling hard with dedication to realise their dreams, the young leader said students’ union polls were the need of the hour to provide the students a platform to express their views about change in educational system besides raising the students’ problems effectively. Thus, he was in favour of the students’ union elections in the colleges and the universities, he maintained.
“My father Kuldeep Bishnoi has assured me of lifting the ban on students’ union polls in the state if HJC holds the reign of the state in next assembly elections due next year. In fact, my father also wants the elections for the betterment of student fraternity,” said Bhavya, adding that students should channelize their power and energy in nation building.
Appreciating the strength of social media network in this modern era of Information Technology, he called upon the youths to make Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites their weapon for bringing social reforms.
“Youths can send me their views and suggestions about any issues. I will present these before my father Kuldeep Bishnoi for further action,” said Bhavya, adding that youth would have decisive role to play in next parliament and assembly polls hence they should franchise with utmost care.
Bhavya also felicitated those 20 teachers with mementos and shawls, who have been performing well in their field.
