Army recruitment rally from April 3 to 14

The recruitment of the youth of all the districts of the Garhwal region in the Army would commence from April 3 and it would continue till April 14 in VC Gabbar Singh Army Camp at Kotdwar in Pauri district. District Magistrate  Pauri Sushi Kumar said that the recruitment rally for the youth of Uttarkashi district  would be held on  April 3, while the same would be held in Tehri on April 4, in Pauri on April 5, in Rudrapprayag on April 6, in Chamoli on April 7, in Haridwar on April 8 and  in Dehradun on April 9.

The medical examination and verification of academic qualifications of the selected candidates would be conducted from April 10 to April 14, DM said, adding  that the power corporation has been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the army recruitment rally.

Meanwhile, the recruitment director Lansdowne Colonel R S Chathaa discussed the nitty gritty of the  recruitment rally at a meeting held at the district headquarters Pauri and said that the recruitment would be held in a totally transparent manner.

The colonel appealed to the aspirant youth not to get trapped by the touts. He also said that recruitment process would be conducted online.

DM said that police would look after law and order during the rally.

“They would be held accountable if peace is disrupted during the rally,” he said.  He also instructed roadways, GMOU and TGMOU  to ensure smooth transportation arrangement in the district of the region and directed the  Public Works Department Duggada to set up barricades along the recruitment area.  The candidates would not be allowed to use  mobile phones during the recruitment process. 

Among those present at the meeting were the recruitment officer Major Malaya Kumar, ASP Kotdwar Harish Verma, SDM Kotdwar Rakesh Tewari, DSO Jagdish Verma and solider welfare officer  Maj Karan Singh Rawat.
