Kailash Mansarovar Yatra concludes

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra which had begun on June 12 has formally concluded with the 18th and final batch of pilgrims returning from their pilgrimage. Arriving here after completing their journey in the high altitude region, they said that the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage was one of the most unique and happy experiences of their life. They said, they were apprehensive about the pilgrimage being hampered following the natural disaster at Malpa and Mangti. However, the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam facilitated helicopters for the pilgrims which enabled them to undertake their journey. Officials of the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam said that a total of 18 batches of pilgrims had undertaken the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage this year through Uttarakhand. These batches comprised a total of 919 pilgrims of whom 619 were men and 229 were women.
