In a dastardly crime that happened in the broad day light on Wednesday, two unidentified two-wheeler borne persons shot dead an advocate in Kotdwar and escaped. With two bullets having pierced into the spine of the advocate, he was rushed to the Joint Hospital in Kotdwar from where he was sent to a higher centre in Haridwar where he succumbed.

Police said that they are waiting for the kin of the deceased to come back to Kotdwar for filing of the FIR.

Pauri senior superintendent of police Jagat Ram Joshi who rushed to Kotdwar after being informed of the incident said that the crime happened when advocate Sushil Raghuwansi, resident of Ratanpur, BL Road, Kotdwar came out of his residence at around 11:15 am.

“On hearing  some noise, the mother of the advocate rushed out and found her son profusely bleeding while lying on the road. As she screamed others gathered and rushed him to the Joint Hospital. As he was becoming critical he was sent to a hospital in Haridwar where he died. We are waiting for the relatives of the deceased to come back to Kotdwar and file the FIR,” he said.

“SOG and a police team have been deployed to nab the accused. We are all alert. We may contact police at Bijnor as the duo might have fled towards the place,” he added.
