There is good news for UP Board toppers. Now, the link road of their village will be named after students who feature in the merit list of High School and Intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board of Education.

An announcement to this regard was made by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in Lucknow on Friday on the occasion of 155th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada.

“The government has planned to identify villages of students who top in the state board examinations. The link roads connecting students’ village will be named after meritorious students so that people could be inspired by them and excel in their lives,” Maurya said in a statement.

The Deputy CM said that so far 10 toppers of High School and 14 of Intermediate class have been identified and the government has given approval to name link roads after these students. Maurya also issued a list of students whose village link roads will be named after them. “This process will continue till the society recognizes the power of youth,” he said.

The government will lay fresh link road if the old road was in bad shape and then put up a plaque carrying the name of the student, his class and rank. The plaque will be unveiled by the student in the presence of local public representative.
