Director General of Police (DGP) AN Upadhyay on Tuesday inaugurated the day-long workshop on 'Irregular Finance Company and Police' here.

In his address to the police officials and public prosecutors from all the districts of State present at the workshop, the DGP said that police should do the case study of irregular finance companies as soon as they start working so that they are unable to carry on the business.

Upadhyay said that no irregular financial business is registered in the State. Police should have information about the company starting business, the work for which it is registered and which kind of financial work it can start.

The DGP also said that if any company gives tempting offers of providing returns on higher interest rates than any bank or doubling the amount, then it is prima facie a fake company. This kind of irregular business comes under the category of serious offence.

Upadhyay said that a public awareness campaign should be conducted against these companies.

He gave instructions to organize such workshops in other parts of the state as well.

On the occasion, DGP also released the book published by Crime Investigation Department of Police Headquarters.

The workshop was also addressed by Additional Director General of Police (CID)  RK Vij.
