The Bharat Vikas Parishad took out an impressive prabhatpheri which started from DVC ME school and passed through major thoroughfares of the Thermal City including station road, hospital, Jharkhand chawk, Lal chawk CMD areas, Govindpur and GM colony that later turned into a meeting at local DVC middle school's ground.
The members of Bharat Vikas Parishad also took part in the rally, led by the State general secretary PK Ambatha. Earlier the National Convener Vistar of BVP GP Singh paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda and recalled his contribution in generating social awareness and self respect among the downtrodden of our nation.

The organisation is working on the theme of contact, help, dedication and service and a member of BVP is working for upliftment of society.
On occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, many social programmes from January 12 to July 10, 2013 would be organised by the BVP, Bokaro Thermal in different ways.
Others present on the occasion included AK Mishra, SB Singh, Shyama Kumari, Rajani Bala Karn, Pratima Chakarbarty, Sanjay Kumar, SK Sarkar, AP Mehta, Anil Gupta, KK Tiwari, Virendra Kumar Sinha, Vimlesh Mishra, Quaseen Akhatar.
Bharat Vikas Parishad presently has 950 branches all over India with a membership of 67,000. In addition Bharat Vikas Parishad has also established a number of branches outside India.
For carrying out its work, the country has been divided into 15 zones and 58 prant.
