"For me, the only difference between the two is that one needs to carry a separate bag for laptops and that if you posses a notebook watching movie cant be fun for you because of the small screen," Manish Sharma, a student of St. Xavier's College, chuckled.
"A notebook is not the same as a laptop, and so these terms should not be used interchangeably. Most people believe that as long as it is not a permanent fixture on tour desk, any portable computer will become either a laptop or a notebook. Kanchan Kumar, owner of Digital Solutions, said.
"People often come with queries as they cannot differentiate between the two. However, there are some major differences between these portable devices, and these will come in handy when you are in the process of buying one" Kumar explained.
Arav Raj, a city-based software engineer elaborating Kumar's point said, "If you have a look at the features of a notebook first. For starters, a notebook is ultra-light while laptops are heavier. The RAM as well as the in-built memory of the upper-range laptops is more than notebooks."
Raj further differentiating said that a notebook computer does not have an inbuilt DVD and CD system. "The typical screen size is between 12 to 14 inches while the laptops the laptop features a wide screen that is 14 to 17 inches in measurement. The battery back-up of the laptops are mostly equal but in the higher-end models it's much higher than the notebook," he added.
In midst of all the debates for Ranchiites what matters is the size.
