Bhalotia wins president post

Ashok Bhalotia won the coveted election of president’s post of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry late last night defeating his rival Alok Choudhary by 29 votes. For Hony general secretary post Vijay Anand Moonka defeated arch rival Prabhakar Singh by 65 votes. The biennial election of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was held at the Chamber Bhawan.

 The oldest traders body of the state (second in undivided Bihar) SCCI which was constituted in 1950 has close to 1100 members and is the largest body looking after businessmen interest in Kolhan region comprising East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.

Bharat Vasani, who won vice president (trade and commerce post) said that despite hurdles their team managed to win the elections. “We managed to pressurize the state government with several rounds of meeting with chief minister in support of traders. We will continue to work for greater good traders,” he noted.

 Vijay Anand Moonka said that they will continue to focus on improving business milieu.
