Goods train derails at Hatia-Rourkela section

Two bogies of a goods train carrying iron ore from Kiriburu to Bokaro derailed at Pakra Station on Hatia-Rourkela route on Wednesday. The incident took place at 6 am in the morning and rail traffic remained disturbed for sometime due to it. Prima facie the accident seems to have taken place as points were not set properly. Employees responsible for the accident have been suspended by the authorities.

Soon after getting the information of accident DRM VK Gupta, Sr DCM MR Acharya, Sr DOM Neeraj Kumar and other officers were busy trying to make the railway traffic normal from division control room. 

Due to the accident Bhubaneswar-Bokaro Garib Rath, Puri Hati Tapaswini Express, Aleppy- Dhanbad Express, Bangalore Cant-Hatia Express, Sambalpur Jammu Tavi Express, will run on alternative route. Jharsugda-Hatia passenger train will run till Rourkela and will return from there only. Tata-Hati passenger will run till Hatia and Hatia-Jharsuguda passenger will remain cancelled.

Additional Divisional Rail Manager (Infra) Ajeet Singh Yadav alongwith Sr Divisional Engineer (Coordination) Vishal Anand, Sr Divisional Mechanical Engineer SK Mandal and Divisional Engineer Bam Bam Pandey and a team of employees reached the spot and at 7:15 AM the train was sent with 57 bogies to Bokaro .
