Jharkhand Travel Mart to endorse State’s tourism prospects

Endeavouring hard to bring Jharkhand on global map through its scintillating beauty adorned with abundance forest wraps, heritage attractions and religious sites, Jharkhand Tourism is all set to organise the first ever ‘Jharkhand Travel Mart 2018’ at Mega Sports Complex, Khelgaon.

The first of its kind, three-day event will kick off from March 23 with a few big names from tourism sectors expected to be the part of this Jharkhand Travel and Tourism Exchange programme. The proposed event enfolding a range of promotional activities for its clients as well as commoners for branding and marketing of ‘Land of Forest’ is said to be the eastern India’s biggest B2B (business to business) travel event.

Highlighting the key features of the show, the organizers stated that over 500 travel agents are expected to visit the mega event. Around 75 exhibitors from Jharkhand and other parts of the country from 10 different tourism segments will be the part of this tourism show. To tap the potentials of the tribal heartland, as many as 10,000 holidaymakers will be visiting the capital city.

The exclusive pavilion of ‘Jharkhand Tourism’ will consist of segments such as festivals of Jharkhand, heritage trails of Jharkhand, heritage sites, tribal tourism, wildlife resorts and national parks, religious tourism, rural tourism showcasing its vivid artifacts and promoting its travel agents, tour operators including destination management companies.

Jharkhand which is the emerging tourist destinations with its wide arena of attractions and opportunities to explore will conduct B2B Road-shows and interactive session in key markets from where the tourists’ inflow is relatively high. B2B Road-shows will be held in seven cities i.e..Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Durgapur, Asansol, Patna and Gaya to promote the State while describing the details of the first ‘Jharkhand Travel Mart’ show.

Secretary, Tourism, Manish Ranjan during the interactive session cum first Road-show here on Tuesday said, “This mega event along with the creating a brand name for the State, it will help in creating huge job opportunities in this sector. The event is an extension of the marketing approach being done by the State government to introduce more tourism destinations while reinforcing the Jharkhand tourism brand among the stakeholders.”

According to the records of Department of Tourism, approximately 3.34 crore domestic tourists have traveled to Jharkhand in 2016 which is equivalent to the total population of the State. Also, report suggests over 1.69 lakh foreign tourists in 2016 came to Jharkhand.

Besides, developing scared spots that contribute to the maximum share of tourists inflow here in this sector through ‘Swadesh Darshan Scheme’, ‘Prasad Yojana’ and other central government plan, special focus is being given on endorsing rural tourism, eco-tourism through developing waterfalls and a few natural habitats without tampering its natural exquisiteness.

Sphere Travelmedia and Exhibitors is the official organizing partner of this event. The event will be opened from 11 AM to 6 PM. In the first half of the three days event, the primary slot will be dedicated completely for business procedure to the company delegates, clients servicing, government entities and other tourism affairs while from 2 PM onwards, the event will be opened for the public. On March 25, the programme will be exclusively for the consumers (public). The entry is free for everyone
