The heat of the election battle for securing the seven Lok Sabha seats in the National Capital is likely to turn up as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader and Wayanad MP are likely to hold a roadshow and address the public on May 18.
According to BJP sources, PM Modi, who filed his nomination papers from Varanasi on Tuesday, will hold a roadshow in support of two time MP and BJP candidate for North east Delhi on May 18 along with a public address in Ramleela Maidan in the national capital.
With his campaigning in Delhi, the election fervour in Delhi will be turned up even further and the saffron party would be vying to secure all the seats in the city, maintaining its track record of sweeping all seats for a consecutive third term . Further, the Delhi Congress earlier shared that Rahul Gandhi will be participating in a town hall address with the public dwelling on the issues they face.
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav on Monday said, “Delhi Congress will organise “Town Hall” in the coming days to discuss the issues facing the people like price rise, unemployment, GST, rehri-patri vendors, pollution, women’s safety and security, law and order, JJ clusters, resettlement and unauthorised colonies, ownership rights to the poor in every Lok Sabha constituency and to find solutions. Rahul Gandhi has agreed to address one of the Town Hall meetings.”
According to party sources, it is likely that Gandhi, who had earlier asked PM Modi to do a debate with him in a US Presidential election style, will hold such a town hall address on Monday in support of the Congress and joint INDIA alliance candidates in Delhi.
Following Modi’s election campaigning, one can also expect to see Home Minister Amit Shah up next in Delhi campaigning for BJP candidates. Polling in Delhi is slated to be held on May 25 and the election results will be announced on June 4.
