Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University (MPBOU) is now going to start German, French and Urdu language courses from next academic session. University administration has decided to start diploma courses in German and French language and masters’ degree in Urdu language from academic session 2013-14.
MPBOU Vice Chancellor Tariq Zafar said that presently demand for learning foreign languages like French and German and Urdu has increased significantly. Humanities students are very much interested in Urdu language while technical graduates get benefit of knowledge of a third language for further studies in European countries.
Zafar further said that university is also preparing to start courses in Naturopathy and Yoga, life skills and education, fine arts and fashion, physiotherapy, physical education and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in rural and agriculture management course.
He further said that initial draft of the course and course material has been designed by the directors and experts from the fields. The draft will be presented in the academic council’s meeting which is scheduled to be organized in first week of June. If academic council approves of the course then university will start the courses from this year only.
It is worth mentioning that very few universities offer diploma courses in foreign languages in the state. The courses are designed according to the interest of students and demand of market.
Meanwhile, the second, fourth and sixth semester examinations of the university are going to start from June 17. Admissions in under graduate and post graduate courses of the university for the academic session 2013-14 will conclude on May 31.
