Monday, 21 October 2013 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

After several rounds of questioning, DMAT Secretary and Director of lN Medical College and Dental and Medical Admission Test (DMAT) Secretary Anupam Chouksey was finally arrested by Kolar police and was produced in the district court.

Chouskey has been sent under judicial custody till November 1. On Saturday Chouksey who was questioned at the Kolar police station was arrested late night. After the DMAT scam surfaced role of Chouksey in the whole scam was under scanner and when the police got adequate evidences against Chouksey he was arrested.

Police have confirmed that during investigation Chouksey confessed of accepting examination forms of two candidates after the last date of the submission. He also confirmed that the he was acquainted with Surendra Chouhan and has met him several times in connection to the admissions in the lN Medical College.

Irregularities in DMAT surfaced during investigation of an admission fraud in lN Medical College in which Rs 17 lakh were duped from an Andhra Pradesh resident. Nine others were also cheated in the name of admission. It was found that the DMAT officials are involved in corrupt practices to avail admissions in the private medical colleges in collusion with the ‘agents’.

The role of DMAT became suspicious after it was found that the examination forms of two candidates were submitted after the last date of submission. DMAT officials were questioned in the initial investigation which later leads to suspicious role of Anupam Chouksey who holds post of Secretary with DMAT and at the same time was Director of lN Medical College.
