The festival of Bhai Dooj was celebrated with enthusiasm in the city on Tuesday.

Generally, the festival holds much significance for siblings as the festival is known to strengthen the love and bonding of brothers and sisters.
On the festive day, sisters keep half day long fast and pray for the healthy and long life of their brothers, which makes their relationship stronger. Usually, the festival of bhai dooj falls on the second day after Diwali every year, which symbolises the bond of brothers and sisters.
On the auspicious day of bhai dooj, sisters apply a vermilion tilak on the forehead of their brothers and perform their aarti, which depicts the love and care between them.
In return, sisters presented gift items by the brothers. Brothers are also offered delicious sweets and other delicacies by their sisters on this occasion.
On the festive day many people were witnessed at various gift shops buying various items for the occasion.
The sale of sweets also increased noticeably on the occasion.
