State to start getting electricity soon from Korba power plant

Chhattisgarh will start getting 500 mega watt electricity from its own power plant in just few days as the first of its mega power plant, Korba West, was synchronised at 5 am Monday, beaming with success on power front Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh informed Chhattisgarh Assembly amid cheers.

Expressing his pleasure on the successful synchronisation of the mega power plant, Dr Singh congratulated officials, engineers and workers of energy department and power companies. He also expressed the hope that another mega power project of Chhattisgarh, 500 MW capacity Madwa power project, in Janjgir-Champa district, also will be synchronised soon boosting the power kitty of the state.

 Elaborating on the power scenario, the chief minister said that the successful synchronisation of state’s own power plant has not only proved our working efficacy but within few days when it would be put on full load, will also start providing power to full capacity which would be of much use in tackling the increased demand of power in Summer.

Congratulating all the members of the house, Dr Raman Singh said at the time of creation of Chhattisgarh power plants of 50 MW, 120 MW and 125 mega watt were operating here.

During BJP government first of its 250 MW power plant was established under Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Project and by taking that achievement forward we have now achieved 500 MW Korba West, a new land mark in state’s power sector, he added.
