Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh will on Friday arrive here to inaugurate Dr R.H. Richharia Research laboratory at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) premises.
The Minister will also participate in the 23rd meeting of the Regional Committee–VII of Indian Council of Agricultural and Research (ICAR, New Delhi) at Swami Vivekanand Auditorium at IGAU. State Chief Minister Raman Singh will preside over the programme, an IGAU press release issued here on Thursday stated.
The programme will commence from 10.45 am. The State Agriculture and Water Resources Minister, Brijmohan Agrawal, Raipur MP Ramesh Bais, MlA (Dharsiva), Devjibhai Patel and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and the Director General , ICAR, Dr S Ayyappan will be present as the special guests.
The Vice Chancellor of IGAU, Dr Sanjay Kumar Patil and the Member Secretary of ICAR Regional Committee – VII and the Director of Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Dr KR Kranti will mark their presence on the occasion.
Around 150 senior officials, representatives, scientists and farmers from the agricultural universities, agriculture departments, science centres from ICAR and four states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Goa will participate in the meeting.On this occasion, an exhibition will be held to showcase the education, research and expansion works being carried out in IGAU.
