Tuesday, 15 December 2015 | Pioneer News Service | Lucknow

A day after the hoarding  demanding the elevation of  Azam Khan as the deputy chief minister , was put up near the chief ministers officials residence on Kalidas Marg , the minority affairs minister claimed that he is already  enjoyed that status in the Akhilesh Yadav cabinet.

“I am already the deputy chief minister in the Samajwadi Party government headed by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, In fact what one desires to achieve in life depends on that person provided that persons has the required abilities and competence ‘’ said Azam Khan. He added `` One can achieve everything even if having a small post or office. Mulayam Singh Yadav is a large hearted person and have a place in his family and want to thank both Netaji and those who ut up the hoarding asking for my elevation as deputy chief minister’’.

Azam Khan was in Gahzipur on Monday to attend the marriage of the daughter of Samajwadi Party leader and president of Rashtriya Pathan Mahasabha Haider Ali Tiger.

A hoarding close to the official residence of the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on the Kalidas Marg was put up on Sunday urging the Samajwadi party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to elevate the minority affairs minister Azam Khan as the deputy chief minister of the state. Within few hours another flext poster was pasted on that hoarding announcing the release of a book by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav –``Mulayam Singh Yadav Ka Uttarakhand Ke Vikas Mein Yogdan’’,—written by Vinod Barthwal, the SP leader from Uttarakhand.

The earlier poster seeking the elevation ofAzam Khan as deputy chief minister was put up by an unknown organization ``All India Muslim Welfare Society’’, carrying no names of the office bearers of the organization.  The poster describing Azam  Khan as `Rahabar-e-Millet ( the guide of the community) made a passionate appeal to Mulayam Singh Yadav  to oblige the muslims  and the society on the auspicious occasion of his birthday by elevating Azam Khan as the deputy chief minister.  The poster said this gesture by Mulayam Singh Yadav will give immense pleasure to crores of Muslims of India and other sections of the society.

On the arrest of an Indian oil corporation official in Jaipur for allegedly recruiting youth for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) Azam Khan said `` it has become the latest global fashion to malign the muslims, there seems to be a global wave to indict and abuse the muslims with the ultimate objective of destroying them and their identity’’. He added`` so far  there is no confirmation as to who were are those person who raise slogans in favour of the ISIS and wave the flag of that organization yet the entire community is being maligned’’. He however demanded a high level inquiry into the penetration of the ISIS in the country and said `` if they are muslims that I condemned it and they should be dealt with by the law enforcing agencies’’.
