The education department of BSP is conducting four mock tests for its Class-VIII students studying in its nine English Medium Middle Schools (EMMSs) and Bhilai Ispat Vikas Vidyalaya, Sector-VI (BIVV-VI). The ‘TQT-2015’ shall be held across different centres on February 15, 2015. last year too, the education department had conducted two mock tests for the benefit of its students, a BSP Press release issued here on Saturday stated.
The objective of these mock tests is to prepare students for the upcoming ‘TQT-2015’, the Class-IX entrance test in the much sought after Model School – BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-X (SSS-X). Admission in SSS-X is a major attraction for students of BSP EMMSs. As TQT tests the students in analytical and reasoning skills through a Mental Ability Test (MAT) and also in English, apart from Mathematics, Science and Social Science, thorough preparation and clarity of concepts is required.
A number of private coaching institutions have sprung up in the Bhilai township claiming to get the students through. Most of them cater to a limited number of 100-150 selected students. The education department caters to the needs of the entire batch of more than 900 Class-VIII students through the four mock tests. Two of the four mock tests have already been held on December 29, 2014 and January 12, 2015. The answers to these tests are used for evaluation and discussion by teachers to explain mistakes to students. The mock tests also help the aspiring students through a drill which trains them to solve 125 questions in the available time.
The remaining two Mock Tests are planned for January 27, 2015 and February 7, 2015.
