'Agriculture as profit-making biz is a mantra'

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that to make agriculture profit-making business is not a slogan. It is mantra. Agriculture facility is being extended to make agriculture profit-making. Madhya Pradesh government is adopting new ways to increase irrigation facility. Work plan for lift irrigation has been prepared so that villages are not submerged and farmers could irrigate crops easily.

Water will reach through pipeline. Chinki lift irrigation scheme of Rs 2100 crore will be executed in Narsinghpur district. Chouhan was addressing beneficiary's convention in Ghat Bamhori (Samnapur) on Saturday. Benefits worth Rs 2301.42 lakh were distributed to 32,371 beneficiaries, under different welfare schemes. The Chief Minister distributed benefits to some beneficiaries as a token. The Chief Minister laid foundation and dedicated 55 different constructions works worth Rs 12900.63 lakh in the programme. He dedicated 27 works of Rs 1265.19 lakh. Also, foundations were laid for 28 works having cost of Rs 11635.44 lakh.

The Chief Minister further said that the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme will work as 'sanjeevani' for farmers. He underlined to make needy people house owners by the year 2022. He said that 13 lakh houses will be constructed urban and rural areas in next two years. He said that the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh to each poor for house building. He called upon youths to become successful entrepreneurs. Madhya Pradesh government will make youth employer, not employee.

Union minister of state for health and family welfare Faggan Singh Kulaste said that, Madhya Pradesh is now considered among the leading states because of public welfare and development works being carried out by the state government. He said that health services will be extended at every possible level in the state. Kulaste said that the government of India had started health examination and treatment of every pregnant woman on 9th of every month.

Member of Parliament Prahlad Singh Patel underlined a need to save the district from addiction.

He recalled the contribution of martyr Hirdeshah of Heerapur of the district and urged Chinki lift irrigation project to name after him. He thanked the Chief Minister for various sops given to the district.Member of Parliament Rao Uday Pratap Singh said that the chief minister saved villages from submergence by sanctioning Chinki lift irrigation project. He proposed thanks to the Chief Minister for various gifts given to Hoshangabad parliamentary area and surrounding districts. Singh said that the state's status increased due to works of the chief minister.

MlA Shri Jalam Singh Patel said that the chief minister cancelled proposed dam on Chinki and now villages won't get submerged. MlAs Shri Govind Patel, Shri Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Kailash Jatwa and district panchayat president Shri Sandip Patel were present on the occasion.
