One new district, ten sub-division created in Haryana

Haryana Government on Tuesday approved creation of one new district ‘Charkhi dadri’, ten sub-divisions, ten tehsils and three sub-tehsils in the State.

The decision was taken during the Haryana Cabinet held under Chief Minister Manohar lal here. The State would now have 22 districts.

“The Cabinet has approved creation of new district of Charkhi Dadri on the proposal of Deputy Commissioner, Bhiwani. However, the committee recommended that the adjoining villages not proposed to be included in the district by the Deputy Commissioner may also be given an option to be a part of district Charkhi Dadri by giving public notice of 30 days,” said Cabinet Minister OP Dhankar while addressing mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting.

He said that proposals for upgradation of Ambala Cantt in district Ambala, Badhra in district Bhiwani, Badkhal in district Faridabad, Narnaund in district Hisar, Badli in district Jhajjar, Uchana in district Jind, Gharaunda in district Karnal, Radaur in district Yamunanagar and Punhana in district Mewat as sub-divisions were also approved. Besides, the matter of creation of sub-division of Kalanwali in district Sirsa was reviewed and recommended.

Approval was also given for creation of sub-tehsils namely Khijrabad in district Yamunanagar, Palhawas in district Rewari and Kheri Jalab in Kheri Chopta, Hisar.

The Cabinet has approved the proposals of Revenue and Disaster Management Department to change the name of district Gurgaon as district Gurugram and that of district Mewat as district Nuh, he said.

The State Cabinet also approved the proposal of Urban local Bodies Department to allot three acres of additional land of Kurukshetra Development Board to Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organizaiton of Bhagwad Gita (GIEO GITA), New Delhi, for construction of a Centre for Universal Spread of Awareness and Research on Shrimad Bhagwad Gita. The land would be allotted on lease basis for 99 years at the rate of Rs five lakh per acre.

The State Government has given approval to change the name of Food and Supplies Department to Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

The Cabinet also decided to bring out nine rule books of Haryana Civil Services Rules both in Hindi and English languages in place of existing three volumes of Punjab Civil Services Rules.

Dhankar informed that all the instructions or policy decisions taken by the State Government upto December 2015 have been incorporated and redundant or obsolete rules or portion thereof have been deleted for bringing out the new books. New terms created from time to time since 1953 have been defined.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal of connectivity of the proposed site of integrated multi modal logistic hub near Narnaul, district Mahendragarh, to National highway no. 148B. The length of the proposed road is 6,775 metres and 75.58 acres in required. The multi modal logistic hub would be set up over an area of about 1,000 acres at village Bashirpur, Ghatasher and Talot in Tehsil Narnaul in Mahendragarh.

Haryana to recruit 955 retired persons

The State Government will recruit 955 retired persons of Central Para-Military forces and Ex-constables of disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Forces (HSISF) to fill up unfilled seats, out of the targeted 3,000 ex-servicemen. They will be recruited in the Auxiliary Force mainly consisting of ex-servicemen, as Special Police Officers (SPOs) in Haryana Police. The Cabinet has also decided in-principle that employees of Class IV category would also be absorbed on such posts.

Special Vidhan Sabha session convened

Making grand preparations to celebrate Haryana’s golden jubilee year, the State Cabinet has decided that former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of legislative Assembly (MlAs) of the state would be

invited to attend a special meeting on golden jubliee year at Indradhanush Auditorium, Panchkula on November 3.

For the sitting MPs and MlAs, a special ‘Swarna Jayanti Session’ of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha would be held on November 4. The special session would be extended, if required.

Ambala Police Commissionerate abolished

Following Cabinet Minister and Ambala Cantonment MlA Anil Vij’s opposition to the commissionerate system, Haryana Government on Tuesday decided that Ambala will revert to the old system of policing and is taken out from the Panchkula-Ambala Commissionerate.

Haryana Cabinet on Tuesday decided to establish the office of Commissionerate of Police for the area following within the limits and jurisdiction of the revenue districts of Panchkula, known as Commissionerate of Police of Panchkula, said Cabinet Minister OP Dhankar.

The Police system prevailing in the revenue district of Ambala before issuance of Home Department notification dated August 9, 2011, is restored and would start functioning with immediate

effect, he said.

The Panchkula Commissionerate would be divided into seven police districts to be headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police in the rank of Superintendent of Police. The seven police districts in Panchkula would be located at Kalka, Pinjore, Sector-5, 14 and 19 of Panchkula, Mansa Devi Complex and Chandimandir.
