Thursday, 12 October 2017 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

learning Karma, a highly innovative technology-based venture of the Cloudatix group organised an interactive session with Dr Nigel lockyer, Director of Fermilab and a leading physicist on Wednesday. The session was attended by scholars, delegates and students of Delhi University.  A number of issues were discussed such as the discovery of the Higgs-Boson, preventing rail accidents through a portable tech invention, dramatic energy conservation through new technologies, accelerator spin-off that is applied to cancer therapy and water conservation.

Dr Dinesh Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Delhi University and chief mentor for ‘learning Karma’ that represents the brand behind the highly innovative hybrid enterprises such as College of Startups (Incubator-Accelerator) and Internet College, said “learning Karma hosts and cocoons-inside action oriented but deep knowledge systems-early-stage innovative entrepreneurs building next-generation products in big data, advanced analytics, display networks, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other transformational technologies,”.

Dr Singh further said that the learning from such enterprises shall flow into offerings and activities of the Internet College and vice versa. “As part of the official program, startups will receive an access to world-class data and content sets and mentoring from experienced executives and from high-end institutions across the globe networking opportunities for investment and commercialisation,” he said.

He further informed that ‘learning Karma’ is also going to launch an internet and IT-based learning programs that are not easily available elsewhere and which rely on innovative pedagogies that offer unique learning and knowledge creation opportunities. The programme will be launched through ‘Internet College.

Throwing a light on the uniqueness of the concept, Sanjay Sharma, Managing Director of Cloudatix said that ‘learning Karma’ represents a unique blend of blue-sky knowledge with hands-on ideas that are transformational and are creating a new horizon as a part of Cloudatix’s significant investment in innovation ecosystems around the globe. “Thus startups are enabled to rapidly produce prototypes and validate solutions using data science, mentoring and lean experimentation. The thrust is towards developing rapid convergence between ideas, solutions and products,” he said.

Dr Nigel lockyer said “Fermilab along with CERN is the world’s leading particle physics research centre. It has played a major role in the discovery of the Higgs-Boson leading to a Nobel Prize.

“A select list of technology-based applications emanating from Fermilab-including a very important one for IT (programming) includes a multi software system that can shorten and save programming time,” he said.
