BJP to organize 'Pichchra Warg Pratibha Samman' today

With an eye on the backward vote bank, the state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party will organize ‘Pichchra Warg Pratibha Samman’ on Friday wherein meritorious students from the backward castes will be feted.

In-charge of the programme Amarpal Maurya said on Thursday that the programme will be oragnised in nine districts. Senior BJP leaders and local legislators and MPs were expected to take part in the programmes.

“A series of programmes were held between August 15 and September 15, wherein backward students excelling in various fields, including education, were felicitated across the state. This programme will culminate on Friday,” Maurya said.He added that exploits of students of backward castes have been under wraps till now but the BJP has taken up the cudgel to give these students what was due to them.

Programmes will be held in Amroha, Budaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Banda, Farrukhabad, lalitpur, Chitrakoot and Allahabad.

Power minister Shrikant Sharma will attend the function in Allahabad while MPs Rajesh Verma, Dharmendra Kashyap will be the chief guests at Bareilly and Pilibhit respectively. Minister in Yogi cabinet Dharamveer Prajapati and Gita Shakya will preside over functions at Banda and Farrukhabad respectively.

“All the local leaders and legislators of the region have been asked to attend the functions,” Maurya said.
