Govt to run Fortis Heart Centre after MoU ends

The Chhattisgarh Government has decided not to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

with Fortis Escorts Heart Centre in Raipur.

The hospital would be run by State-run Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital after end of the MoU tenure, officials informed.

Commissioner, Health services, R Prassana told The Pioneer that the land and the infrastructure of the hospital already belongs to the State government.

The Government had signed a MoU with the Fortis Group and now the State Government is not going to extend the MoU, he said.

A letter regarding the same has been written to the hospital and the  State Government has asked the Fortis Group Management to vacate the hospital, Prasanna said.

The hospital would be run by the State Government from November 1, 2017, he said.
