Thursday, 05 October 2017 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Providing fillip to ongoing industrialisation in State, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma on Wednesday visited Adityapur Industrial Area in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district and presided over a meeting with officials of  Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA). She said that the State Industry Department is geared up for organising the third phase of Momentum Jharkhand to be held sometime in November.

“We have already received over 100 investment proposals from various corporate houses for the third phase of Momentum Jharkhand which should be organised in the same scale like the previous phases. We have received overwhelming responses from the investors.  Industry department and various entities took keen interest during the Momentum Jharkhand's phase one and phase two held in Ranchi and Jamshedpur respectively," said Verma.

Though she didn’t reveal any details on the venue for holding the third phase of Momentum Jharkhand, but said that the State government is focused on promoting investments in the State, after the ground breaking of 74 projects in second phase, several companies are lined up for the third phase. She said that the idea is to build a favourable scenario for the investors.

Answering media queries, the chief secretary said that the AIADA has 250 acres of land in its disposal for setting up industries. “As per the plans out of the existing land at AIADA’s disposal, 85 acres of land will be utilised by the electronics manufacturing companies proposed to be set up beside the Adityapur toll bridge and remaining 165 acres of land in various industrial phases in AIADA," she said.

Verma said in setting up industries under AIADA it shouldn't be a problem for any corporate house within the country or abroad. Adityapur Industrial Area houses 1200 units- including 11 large-scale, 64 small scale and 166 tiny industries. A few important industries that has global presence are Usha Martin Group, RSB Group, Tata Steel Growth Shop (TGS) etc., too situated in this industrial belt, situated in Seraikela-Kharsawan. There are 20 industries, which export its products to the USA, Australia and other European countries.

In August this year, Chief Minister Raghubar Das laid foundation of about 74 projects that began their journey during the ‘Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors Summit’ at Ranchi in February this year.  Das in the presence of Union Information and Broadcasting and Textile Minister, Smriti Irani clicked the button to perform ground breaking ceremony of the projects that have an estimated direct investment inflow of more than Rs 2100 crores and a potential of generating over 10,000 direct jobs.
